Our food

Sprout is a plant cafe that serves plant-based food and drink.You can expect a variety of dips and small plates, warm sourdough focaccia and naturally gluten-free herby chickpea flatbread, mixed vegetable quiche, savoury pastry rolls, and a wide selection of fresh, vibrant, seasonal salads. All our dips, small plates and most of our salads are made with gluten-free ingredients.If you're after a sweet treat, our Portuguese custard tarts are extremely popular, as are our chocolate chip cookies and banana bread.All our food, including our sourdough, is made by us, in-house, and completely plant-based.We serve coffee supplied by Triple Co Roast, who work directly with coffee farmers so they get a fair price for a superb product; loose leaf tea from Exmoor Tea Company; juices from the local orchards at Heron Valley; kombucha by Fix8; sodas by Gusto Organics.

Tucked away in the heart of Exeter’s historic Cathedral Yard,
Sprout is a small but spirited café rooted in a love for real, vibrant
food. Founded by Ken, Sprout began with a simple idea: that
eating well should feel good, not just in your body, but in your day.
We serve colourful, wholesome, plant-based meals that are made
fresh each day and inspired by the seasons. Our food is full of
flavour, thoughtfully prepared, and open to all, whether you eat
plant-based every day or just fancy something fresh.
Sprout is built on warmth and welcome. It’s a space where good
food, good company, and a sense of care come together, quietly
celebrating the everyday choices that make life a little brighter.
